    9:30 AM:      Futuremaker: Orly Lobel

              After coffee, pastries, and morning networking in the courtyard, the conference will open with a keynote by Orly Lobel, Warren Distinguished Professor of Law and Director, Center for Employment & Labor Policy (CELP) at the University of San Diego. She is the Author of The Equality Machine: Harnessing Digital Technology for a Brighter More Inclusive Future

    Her last book “Talent Wants to Be Free” (Yale University Press) is the winner of the Gold Medal Axiom Best Business Books, Gold Medal Independent Publisher’s Award, the Gold Medal of Next Generation Indie Books, and Winner of the International Book Awards for Best Business Book. Publishers Weekly describes this book as ”A compelling argument for a new set of attitudes toward human capital that will sharpen our competitive edge and fuel the creative sparks in any environment.” Lobel has taught at Yale Law School, UC San Diego, Tel-Aviv University, and Harvard University and lectures regularly at top institutions around the globe. She was recently named one of The Marker Magazine's 50 sharpest minds. She has presented at the White House and for major corporations, most recently Zoom.

    10 AM:         The Ghost of Business Future: 5 technologies changing our lives

    Rommel Hidalgo

    Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, CSUF: Rommel Hidalgo is a Titan alumnus who left CSUF in 2016 to serve as the first Chief Information Officer at the University of Guam. During his tenure there, he implemented the Guam Open Research & Education eXchange to broaden and increase the growth and effectiveness of data-intensive and collaborative research and education activities in the Asia-Pacific region with the global research and education community. In 2019, Mr. Hidalgo returned to CSUF as Associate Vice President of Information Technology/Innovation. Rommel also teaches at the College of Business and Economics.

    10:30 AM:    The Future of Social Media:  Stephanie L Smith, Digital & Social Media Supervisor at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Stephanie has been central to social media endeavors at NASA-JPL for over ten years, first as a Social Media Specialist and currently as the Digital and Social Media Supervisor.  At JPL, she oversaw the social media team, which tweets as the Curiosity Mars rover. A two-time Emmy winner for original interactive programming and seven-time Webby Award winner, she was also recognized by Time for running one of the “140 Best Twitter Feeds.”

    11:00 AM:    Robots are coming: The Third Wave of Automation in America: A presentation by the team at Fullerton College, which led the first-ever apprenticeship program for Drone Pilots in California and among the first in the country. Participants will learn how robotic drones are being used everywhere, from the operating room to the battlefield and everywhere in between, including inside your body. Lunch, provided by Sodexo, will include a “show & tell” with cutting-edge technology on display.

    Noon:           Tech Show & Tell Lunch (Campus Cafeteria, Building 200): Try VR, MR, AR, Robots, Projections, and 3D Modeling/printing. Lunch, provided by Sodexo, will include a “show & tell” with cutting-edge technology on display. During lunch, attendees can eat, network, play with demonstrations of future tech, and speak with the speakers.

    1:15 PM:      Social Enterprise Panel w RevHub OC, Charitable Ventures, Octane OC, NOCCCD Center for Entrepreneurship, and Senator Newman. After lunch, the conference will feature a panel on Social Enterprise led by our state Senator, Josh Newman, who garnered $9 Million of state funds to set up North Orange County as a Social Enterprise Zone. The panel includes CEOs from companies and nonprofits on the edge of social innovation: RevHub OC, Charitable Ventures, Octane OC, and the NOCCCD Center for Entrepreneurship.
